The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Rail Team of the Year

Andy Horley

Said the following about Leamington Spa Station Staff:

“This team dealt with major disruption over a 9 week period. From 31 Jan 2015 to 01 April. They were put under immense pressure from day 1 but did extra hours as required (weekends included), often taking unnecessary criticism from the public and dealing with all eventualities. Numerous extra passenger assists (all those for intended stations line of route had to be detrained at LMS) often with taxis required for wheelchair passengers. I can assure you that at times the job was very stressful, but all those parties involved continued to work through with a great attitude including the additional agency staff and bus co-ordination staff. I believe this to have been a truly testing time over a fairly long period and that all the station team at Leamington Spa deserve great credit for their work ethic and attitude. Please put this nomination to the top of your list of nominees.“

Sandra Harper

Said the following about Leamington Spa Station Staff:

“During the land slide at Hartbury in January the staff who work at Leamington Spa station did a fantastic job of ensuring customers were looked after., Despite having to deal with a big bus operation between Banbury and Leamington Spa including not only Chiltern customers but Cross Country customers the staff went out of their way to assist customers ensuring that they knew exactly how to continue their journeys. They worked out side in extreme weathers assisting customers on and off buses and assisted with a massive amount of additional luggage. The feedback from customers was really positive throughout the 7 weeks of disruption.

All staff whatever grade or role they did at the station all worked extremely well with each other and just got stuck in.“
