Nominations for Station Staff Award

Lucy Cashin

Said the following about Kelly Wood:

“I was travelling through Euston in June as a passenger and I'm disabled too so I had gone to the assistance lounge at the station for support. The station was absolutely packed, and it became apparent that there had been a fatality resulting in hours of cancelled trains. Kelly had gone above and beyond to support vulnerable customers at Euston Station. Her initiative to go and buy biscuits and walk around the passenger assistance lounge offering them to everyone and having a chat to help people feel less stressed was brilliant.

Kelly was so professional, and positive and showed that she cared for every passenger. She spoke with children to make them laugh and also showed true care for the elderly and disabled passengers who were stranded for a few hours. I was so impressed by her that I took a photo of her name badge so I could remember to nominate her.

There was a passenger who was in her 80s and had been trying to get home after having open heart surgery the week before (her son had accompanied her). They felt so reassured by Kelly, and as promised, she ensured they got to the first train leaving Euston after services resumed. At a stressful time, she made all the difference.“
