Said the following about Julie Munns:

“Disruptive access is never going to the preferred option for our customers, High Output delivers impressive volumes in shorter access durations, but with Thursday being dubbed the new Friday passenger growth continues, integrating work is key. Pulling all IP work deliverers requests into an integrated possession plan which feeds into the Route team, with all i's dotted ant t's crossed, whilst at the same time engaging operators early and listening to feedback prior to publication of the Engineering Access Statement is no mean feat and not a job that is suited to all.

Enter Julie Munns! Apart from having the necessary skills and experience in planning to do the mechanics of the role, it is Julie's unwavering optimism and determination to enhance IP's reputation with both Route and Operator customers which is absolutely critical to the delivery of the Large Programmes objective.

Julie has a fantastic rapport with operators and has earned the respect of these key people, giving them the assurance and confidence that IP teams do have robust well thought out plans, which have been integrated to minimise repeat disruptive requests to work in the same locations, often within weeks of each other, an issue very close to all operators hearts. Julie approaches all she does, even the tricky bits (which are inevitable in this role) with a real sunny disposition.

Julie has had a tough year personally, but remains committed to making integration a success, this has enabled us to have our 2017 plans tabled to operators already, and Julie recently received 'a gold star' from one operator who was really impressed he’d had an opportunity to shape the future access plan on the LNE.

My role is to make sure the High Output plan remains stable, but knowing access is integrated and feedback from operators has been taken on board allows me to give my development team confidence the access will be there, and work will start much sooner as a result.

The work Julie does will deliver financial benefits to LNE Route, but it’s the relationship benefits which she brings that should most definitely be acknowledged. In my view these are without a doubt what will make the difference between meeting and exceeding our customer expectations.

Please consider Julie for the Delivering for Customers award, quite simply she is a little ray of sunshine.“
