Said the following about Joana Amoh:

“Since joining Carlilse Support Services for our Arriva Rail London Contract Joana has not only taken pride in her duties but has shown a professional approach to her duties and built a great relationship not only with her colleagues but with the Client to support delivering a world-class service.

Joana has faced many challenges which have resulted in her saving three lives, along with supporting passengers being reunited with missing items while traveling along the Network, assisting with travel, also receiving positive praise-feedback from our Clients and Passengers.

Joana is also known as being a great seamstress and has spent many hours creating her own designs in clothing.

During 2023 Joana was approached by ARL Management to see if able to make covers for the Validators at Stations along the Network, these need to be covered when not in use and the covers used were not at their best.

Taking on board the request and setting out with ideas to achieve a style that would look good and fit well Joana in her own time which took many hours, set out to make the covers.

Joana used recycled uniform Jackets that Arriva Rail London normally uses for mattress making, in total nine have been made to place on validators along the Network.

Carlisle along with ARL recognized her achievement and Joana was awarded for her great work.

Joana not only went the extra mile to support our client but ensures the station looks presentable for passengers, the covers have been admired many times by passengers traveling along the ARL Network when in use.

The email from ARL Management below states how grateful they were to Joana, if you do see any of the covers along the network this is Joana’s great work! Well done Joana.

These all started with a one-off conversation with her months ago when I saw the state of some of our validators and their covers or the lack of it. I wished I had some sewing skills so that I could convert some of the old coats that already go to mattress making to something LO will benefit from.

She volunteered and in her own time, took measurements and developed patterns of two different style validators.

Not only do some of our validators now look presentable, but they are also nicely branded with the roundel. Seven Sisters and White Hart Lane are examples of locations where you can find these.“
