Said the following about Jayson-Mark Gill:

“Jayson has been in the role of Retail Trainer for the last 2 years overseeing and developing the Travel Centre Training. In this time he has worked hard to ensure all travel Centre staff have access to the Retail Training Centre in Doncaster, which Jayson put together with very little bugdet. The Retail Training Centre includes a full size mock ticket counter and training areas for up to 15 trainees, as well as delivering 1-1 training along the route at the 16 Travel Centres we have. Jayson's knowledge and the style of training he delivers has been a huge success leading to him gaining much respect from our fellow travel centre staff. Although office based in the retail training Centre at Doncaster Jayson is more than happy to visit any travel centre to assist staff in any training they may have often at short notice.

Jayson has also been heavily involved in other areas of the company such as setting up and delivering training for new and existing station gateline staff. One of the main objectives for Jayson was to reamp and reintroduce Travel Centre Training days, working with the station management to ensure effective sessions for all attending staff. I believe Jayson due to his commitment and passion to training and the fact he didn't come from a training background makes him a deserved nominee.“

Wendy Newton

Said the following about Jayson-Mark Gill:

“Jayson has been seconded to the role of Retail Trainer for the past 2 years. Prior to the introduction of the role there was little structure to Travel Centre training and Travel Centre training days.

Jayson was tasked with the role of developing training programmes and introducing a structure to Training days to ensure staff got the most of the day.

Jayson took on this challenge and the results speak for themselves.

He identified training needs of Travel Consultants by analysing data and then designed various training programmes linked to the training needs of both groups and individuals.

He visited locations along the route to deliver the training and also to identify further training needs to ensure all Travel Consultants were both competent and confident in their roles.

He also set up a training room in Doncaster so that staff could attend for either 1-1 training or group training.

Jayson also ensured he followed up with refresher training if the need arose or if data dictated that refreshers were necessary.

As a result of the training, retail errors in Travel Centres have dramatically reduced and staff confidence has improved.

Jayson was also given the task of structuring training days within Travel Centres. The feedback from this has been very positive with training days being more relevant to the Travel Consultants and also more fun so to assist the learning process.

I do believe that Jayson deserves to be recognised for all the hard work he has done over the last 2 years and also the results achieved acrossed the route because of the relevant structured training given.“
