Kevin Panther

Said the following about Jamie Wyness:

“I have nominated Jamie because he joined SWR as a 16 year old apprentice here at Clapham Junction.

Jamie's customer service skills defy his age greatly. He's a people person, calm, polite and works hard every day. He's constantly praised on twitter or by passengers in person alike.

He makes outstanding announcements on the platform, managing the platforms he works extremely well, is very knowledgeable and somebody who should go very far within the railway industry with a little more belief in himself.

Jamie has just finished his 2 year apprenticeship and has secured himself a full time job as a Metro Guard for SWR. This is something Jamie is very excited for. He will be a credit to SWR and a huge loss to us at Clapham Junction.

At our Awards night with SWR Jamie won the committed to our customers of the year award and I am very proud of him.

Well done Jamie.“

Duncan Claber

Said the following about Jamie Wyness:

“Jamie always sets an example for his colleagues and everyone around him when delivering great customer service. He works hard with positivity and with a smile on his face, even in stressful and unknown situations. He cares for customers and ensures he can give them the most reliable and up to date information about our train service.

At Clapham Junction on Friday 13th January, Jamie was working on the platforms when a customer had fallen under a train, putting Clapham Junction at a standstill. With his quick thinking, Jamie spoke to customers in a polite and empathetic way to ensure they were informed during this time of uncertainty and making sure that they felt safe and well.

Given that this situation most likely caused a lot of anxiety for Jamie (as it would for anyone) he was able to overcome this and still showed excellent customer service demonstrating how important it is to understand your customers.

Jamie has demonstrated that he is a credit to the team at Clapham Junction and the wider business. Despite being one of our youngest employees, he’s had a massive impact on his colleagues as he supports each and every one of us no matter what and shines a light of inspiration on everyone within SWR.“
