“Jim is a great guy who always has a smile on his face and is willing to help anyone at any time. He has a wealth of knowledge on anything mechanical or electrical and what he doesn't know when you ask him, you can be guaranteed that he will half an hour later. You could conduct surgery in the back of his van using his work tools as everything is kept absolutely immaculate, is stored in the correct place and he takes great pride in carrying out his work and representing the company with the same attention to detail.
He can be found repairing and maintaining the company's plant in all weather conditions across the UK. He is always the first to arrive and gets the job done quickly with a focus on quality minimising downtime and the impact upon the main works. Thanks to Jim, as a fundamental part of the Van Elle Rail team, our plant is incredibly reliable, well maintained, clean and always look pristine.
His engineering knowledge also makes him a key player when discussing innovative techniques, investment in new technology or even manufacturing kit in-house to address a specific challenge. He will always talk practicalities when others are looking at theoretical solutions advising of efficiency, cost effectiveness and value-engineering.
