Said the following about James Alexander:

“I received the following email from a work colleague regarding James's actions in going above and beyond to return the customers lost belongings.

I’m writing to advise how impressed I was with the actions of James Alexander on Sunday 5th March 23.

I was working to and from Paignton with James when he found a lost property bag on the seat. The passenger had left the bag on the train when she got off at Torquay and James saw it unattended at Paignton. James looked in the bag to get some ID and found the ladies passport. He contacted the passenger by finding her on social media. She responded to him and he had a conversation with her about reuniting her with her luggage. The lady asked her boyfriend to meet the train at Bristol and James waited, after his shift had finished, at Bristol Temple Meads for him to arrive. Once checking his ID, James felt happy to hand over the bag.

In my opinion, James could have easily passed this issue onto the Train Manager (she was aware), but instead he worked hard to resolve the issue himself and the passenger was very grateful.

I appreciate that this may not be the company procedure, but it was a great gesture and everyone was happy.“
