Said the following about Imran Chaudhry:

“"Imran played a huge role in the opening of the Elizabeth line by ensuring that drivers understood the infrastructure they were driving on; and felt comfortable with it.

Whilst this may sound simple, the complexity of the Crossrail infrastructure coupled with a highly unionised environment meant that the task was enormously challenging.

Imran successfully achieved this by initially working in the Standards team, working alongside Crossrail to gain an understanding of the infrastructure at large. This knowledge then allowed him to successfully write the driver instruction books and driver memos.

Imran took an innovative approach by creating ‘need to know’ paragraphs that told drivers the essential information, then carried ‘optional extras’ – information that drivers could read if they wanted to know why things were the way they were.

Driver feedback was also sought; and Imran was commonly seen riding the route with drivers to understand how they perceived the infrastructure; and how they responded to certain situation.

This winning approach was highly successful and contributed to a smooth-running Trial Operations programme. It was a winning approach as it directly involved drivers; it allowed Imran to understand driver perceptions and build this into his communications regime; and it allowed drivers to better understand the role they were in."“
