Said the following about Heather Hodkinson:

““It was just a normal afternoon at Crewe station when Heather Hodkinson, a newly appointed Station Manager, had just come out of a meeting and received a call from a colleague passing through Crewe station. The call was regarding a suicide note found in the ladies toilet on platform 11. Heather rushed across to platform 11 and asked Gary Campbell (an office manager at Liverpool) who was also at Crewe for a different meeting and had just missed his train back to Liverpool, to come along and assist.

Both went into the ladies toilet and found one of the cubicle’s was locked with someone inside who was refusing to open the door.

Heather and Gary tried negotiation tactics but were unsuccessful. Both had gut instincts about this situation and decide to open the cubical door. Gary went in first and was shocked to see this female who was hanging from her scarf, her face was very pale and blue. Quick thinking Gary lifte d the individual upward so Heather can free her from the scarf, both made her comfortable until the paramedics arrived and took the female to hospital for some further check-ups.

According to the paramedics, if it wasn't for the quick thinking of Gary and Heather the outcome would have been very different.

Both of them would have left home in the morning, thinking and planning for their respective meetings, neither of them envisaging that by the end of the day they would have saved someone’s life.““
