Said the following about Gail Everton:

“Since joining Network Rail and IP Track last year, Gail has taken communications to a new level. With over 800 colleagues spread right across the UK, many working track-side night and weekend shifts, engagement has naturally been challenging.

With the whole of IP Track given a 1,000 volunteer day challenge by programme director, Steve Featherstone, a massive increase on the 68 undertaken in 2015/16, Gail has led the challenge participating but most importantly, developing a communication strategy to promote and share ideas. One of the biggest successes has been over 300 employees volunteering, or circa 30% of the Track team, including delivery partners and whilst Gail has been instrumental is celebrating the successes, she has not only driven the promotion but encouraged and supported individuals to share their own experiences.

To date the teams are just shy of 700 days and without Gail leading this 10 fold increase, I am not sure it would have been such a massive success.

Gail hasn’t been afraid to introduce new and alternative communication channels to help reach her geographically-diverse audience. From taking the whole Track executive team out on tour instead of expecting the masses to come to them; which resulted in them reaching double the number of people as before, consistently achieving the highest number of listeners to Steve’s periodic call and opening the call to questions to encouraging 120 new users to the IP Track Yammer group, the level of engagement has never been higher.

All of the above have seen employee engagement increase by 4% despite the business re organising and over 100 roles being removed – Gail has been instrumental in lead the communication here and maintaining the engagement of all of our teams.“
