Nominations for Customer Service Award

Lynnette Brown

Said the following about Gail Bishop:

“I would like to enthusiastically nominate Gail Bishop, a recent addition to the Greater Anglia team, serving as a Clacton conductor. Gail's dedication and commitment have shone brightly, far beyond her role as a conductor. As an enforcement officer who occasionally covers some of her train routes, I had a unique experience that showcased Gail's exceptional character.

One day, I found myself in a challenging situation with three stranded passengers at Thorpe Le Soken. I was in communication with one of her colleagues, who had already completed their shift and was on their way home. However, Jordan Legate, Gail's co-worker, was still making efforts to contact Greater Anglia for assistance. It was then that I discovered Jordan was in a car with Gail, as she was kindly offering him a ride home from Clacton.

Seeing an opportunity, I reached out to Gail, hoping she could assist in getting these passengers home. Without a moment's hesitation, Gail took Jordan to his destination and then went out of her way to drive to Thorpe Le Soken in her own car, at her own expense and on her own time. She personally collected all three stranded passengers and ensured they safely reached their destinations, despite the fact that it was not a part of her regular duties.

Gail's selflessness and dedication to going above and beyond her call of duty truly deserves recognition. Without her help, I would have likely been stranded for a longer period until control could sort something out. Gail Bishop is undoubtedly a conductor of exceptional character and commitment, and she is a valuable asset to your team.“
