Said the following about Furrer Frey Training Team:

“The training team at Furrer+Frey has delivered a full suite of training programmes to support the design work undertaken for the Great Western Electrification Project. This initiative has enabled a seamless transition from design to implementation. The training programmes were designed in collaboration with Network Rail and Amey to provide familiarisation training on Series 1 equipment for depot pre-assembly teams, steelwork teams, wiring installers and site managers, then initial training for maintenance staff. The team faced time and financial constraints to provide the best possible training with the shortest downtime to a range of disciplines of varying knowledge levels. The motivation was to ensure that all those involved in the application of Series 1 OLE to the Great Western project had the knowledge and skills to ensure that every piece of equipment was installed quickly, safely and with zero faults, thereby recouping the training costs through improved productivity.

The team worked with a variety of stakeholders across the whole NR supply chain in a professional manner, visiting various sites to ensure that the essential hands on elements could be delivered and tailoring each offering, so every group received the training they needed. Participants gave overwhelming positive feedback for the course and the knowledge and approach of the trainers.“

Said the following about Furrer Frey Training Team:

“The F+F GB training team put together from scratch several packages orientated around the new Series 1 OLE system. This included training for new starters in the pre assembly warehouse, steelwork installation for site staff, Small part steelwork and OLE installation for both conventional and high output installations teams, then further training for site managers and initial training for maintenance and response staff. The team often deal with short notice requests for a number of sites across the UK.

Lesson learned from the team member huge experience bringing together best practice from the UK, Switzerland, America, Germany and France to produce the best possible outcomes for the UK teams ensuring the productivity, safety and accuracy were all considered.

Demand for the courses has outstripped initial expectation several fold and feedback from attendees has been excellent. Rated outstanding in the majority of aspects. This will have an impact on the industry and the railway for years to come.“

“The Series 1 training team have demonstrated perfectly the benefits and effectiveness of collaborative working. By working with the client and other contractors they gained an understanding of the skills to be built upon, the skills to be newly taught and the varying skill level of participants, producing a series of dynamic training programmes as a result. This is evident from the extremely positive feedback from the participants, praising both training content and the approach of the trainers.“

Said the following about Furrer Frey Training Team:

“Keith delivered and excellent services to Amey/Network rail by delivering training on the new Series 1 equipment. He helped smooth a lot of issues out on site quickly and efficiently through both training site's at High Marnham and Cocklebury sidings. He held extensive knowledge on the equipment being installed and was very helpful to the delivery team with his construction background.“

Anesh Ram

Said the following about Furrer Frey Training Team:

“This training team has been paramount to the introduction of Series 1 to the OLE construction teams across the country. Their attention to detail has ensured that all students receive a highest level of teaching.

Keith, The Trainer, having a significant amount of knowledge in OLE construction has been a outstanding leader in the classroom and has clearly engaged the trainees with his ability to empathise with techniques and practices which are used on day to day basis on railway construction.

With the experience of the trainer and the developers of Series 1, this is a formidable team to be rolling out the training for a brand new high speed system to the rest of the UK. Hundreds of people have been trained in a short timeframe and this has only been possible with the flexibility of the training team. The great results are a testament to this.“
