The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Rail Manager of the Year

Emily Lacey

Said the following about Drew Burbidge:

“When gathering nominations for the RailStaff awards, many people said that ‘Drew is the type of person the railway needs more of.’ He not only takes care of his staff while on shift but always lends a helping hand to his colleagues both within and without working hours, no matter what the issue may be. He is known for his integrity, forthcoming manner, and helpfulness.

Every day, Drew takes on the responsibility for his area, but often helps out others and never strays from a challenge or opportunity to help a colleague. In early 2022, Drew helped a new team member with their transfer from Glasgow to Stirling. He ensured that they not only had a smooth transition but felt welcome and that they were an asset to the team. This is just one of many examples where Drew goes above and beyond every day for his team. His work ethic not only impresses those who work with them, but many say that it inspires them to work to a higher standard themselves.“
