Said the following about David Nelson:

“David is a Railway Enforcement Officer at Southeastern, who made a remarkable intervention. He managed to gain the confidence of a young woman who had climbed onto a signal gantry.

David took the time to relate to the young woman. He listened to her story and earned her confidence - so much so that she only wanted to talk to him.

Thanks to David and his colleague Peter, this young lady was kept from harm until a trained negotiator arrived and David was able to help her down and take her to safety.

The incident caused significant delay, but thankfully no one was hurt. This story could have had a very different and much more distressing end if David hadn't been on the scene so quickly and used his wit and training to speak and listen with the young lady.“
