Said the following about Dave Andrews:

“Upon my transition from Commercial Guard to Duty Resource Manager, Dave Andrews was appointed as my trainer for the role. Moving from one job role to another, especially when they are two different depots, and having to meet a whole new team and crew was challenging, but Dave was extremely welcoming and warm. He has a lot of patience and a very calming way of teaching the role and has no problems with answering any questions- no matter how silly they may sound.

He has supported me while I've built my confidence running the desk on my own by stepping in to help when disruption has hit, keeping me calm and focused, and helping me deal with challenging members of the team.

Each week he will sit with me and ask me how my training is going, and will give me feedback both good and constructive on how I'm performing in the role so far, and will always act on anything where there are areas of improvement needed.

He has the natural ability to keep spirits in the office up, meaning a great working and training environment every day, and it allows me to look forward to coming to work and dealing with new challenges that are ahead for me each day.

He may not be an "official" trainer in the role, but he deserves to be. He deserves this award because of his supportive nature and because in the short space of time, I've been in the role, his training has been exceptional and has given me skills I didn't realise I even had. He is an excellent people person, and he is a natural at training and making everyone feel comfortable and accepted in the role.“
