“On the 31st January the railway line between Leamington Spa and Banbury was blocked by a landslide. On that day a number of train planners and operational staff came into the office on their day off to put an emergency train plan into effect for the next day with a more detailed plan for the following week. During the first week of the blockage a more detailed plan was drawn up to provide a steady state railway. The effort of these individuals, who went above and beyond their job specifications, ensured that a punctual and organised service could be provided and advertised. This level of pro-activity is in stark contrast to the results that have been seen elsewhere during times of disruption.“
