Said the following about Carrol Humphris:

“I would like to nominate Carrol Humphris for the Rail Manager of the Year Award.

Carrol is a dedicated member of the High Weald Team and is always ready to support her staff and colleagues, nothing is too much trouble for Carrol, and her wealth of knowledge means that she is always there with advice, whether it is mentoring new colleagues while they are learning the role or on the ground supporting her staff during times of disruption, whether that be through fatalities, rail blocks or just the general day to day running of the railway.

She is a great support to not only her team but all staff in the area. Should a problem arise staff know that they just need to call her up and she will do everything in her power to ensure they get the answers they require and if she can't help she will point them in the right direction. Her phone is always on and they know she is just a phone call away.

Carrol is a good leader and never afraid to lead from the front, she is a good listener, always happy to help, she encourages her staff to be their best and supports them in their achievements, and she is always ready to give recognition for a job well done. She is a great help to many who wish to progress their railway career, helping people with job applications, and interview skills and giving them career advice on top of her normal duties.

Carrol has been a tremendous support to several members of staff who have been dealing with the aftermath of fatalities. She is always in constant contact with them, listening to their needs and supporting them through this very difficult time, she is there for them day or night, on duty or off they know they can call her.

Carrol has an open-door policy for everyone, nothing is too much trouble, and she treats everyone with kindness and respect.“
