Said the following about Blake Robins:

“I would like to nominate Blake Robins Staines Station Supervisor for his outstanding dedication and excellent standards.

I remember it like yesterday when Blake joined us back in 2007 as a very young man who then grew over the years into an amazing member of staff and a leader.

Blake overcame his dyslexia and became Staines Supervisor after 7 years of joining in 2014. I cannot stress enough how much he deserved this promotion as in my opinion he had always overlooked, ignored and not treated properly.

He represents very high qualities in the lead role he took back in 2014. He is always very visible especially when things go wrong. Blake provides exceptional high standards of communication whether via tunnel, WhatsApp or in person at the station. He is a man who isn't afraid of difficult or challenging situations, which he has proved over and over again.

I have watched him thrive over the years and as a winner of the Excellence Award 2023, I can see that Blake has better qualities than I have as he is simply out of this world.

He never lets anybody down, he is the most helpful and kind person and he should have been nominated a very long time ago.

Nobody can understand how difficult it is to work at Staines Station while Thorpe Park is open, especially on special nights. I know as I'm an ex-member of Staines Ticket Office team. The challenges, abuse and stress this park caused and still causing are unimaginable. However, Blake is always there, no matter the time and weather. Blake has shown resilience and determination and always managed well whatever was thrown at him

I have never heard him complain, he simply gets on with everything. Blake always takes a huge pride in his station and represents outstanding work ethics. As we know not many have got that. He is very approachable and friendly and deserves to be noticed for who he is.

Blake is a huge asset to SWR and his experience and knowledge come in handy in every day to day activities at Station.

Blake is a first-class leader and friendly who I can always, always count on.

Blake completed many hours doing bus replacement, standing in the pouring rain offering advice and guidance to our passengers with a great big smile on his face.

He never goes into hiding. Always visible and happy to help.

He is taking great, great pride in his work as this comes really naturally.

As we all know, when you love someone and you are doing something you love, you do it with passion and huge pride and this is Blake Robins's definition.

Blake overcame many health issues and stood strong all the way and now it's a time to thank him for his dedication and hard work.

Staines Station would not be the same without Blake. You are a superstar with the same high qualities I saw in you over the years Blake. So now I'm taking this opportunity to share this with others so they can see it too.

You aren't going to be ignored any more. You are simply the best.“

Julianna Mamczak-Kosmala

Said the following about Blake Robins:

“I would like to nominate Blake because he brings strong assets to his role as the Staines Station Supervisor, not only that, but he also supports his group of colleagues at Staines.

We are really fortunate to have him as part of the South Western family.

First of all, he is dedicated and hardworking. He is extremely organised and focused on the job and the challenges the working environment creates every day for him. I watch him nearly every day developing the best practices to manage the station really well. This is particularly challenging during disruption and dealing with Thorpe Park crowd.

He brings a positive energy and personal touch to his role, and his dedication surprises me every day. I think he deserves all the WOW’s' as he overcomes his dyslexia issue to achieve his success.

Blake brings professional attributes and genuinely cares about delivering excellent quality work.

I still remember, when I met young Blake years ago, when I was myself a platform staff that time. His hard work always amazed me during rugby, Ascot races etc. During that time he was delivering the best customer service he could. He always goes beyond the goals set for him and the Staines team.

Blake never complains about anything, he does deal with different issues and problems the best he can and anyone can rely on him.

He has excellent face-to-face communication and teamwork skills that make the workplace a positive environment. From my train driver seat perspective, I always see him ready at the station for any passengers requiring ramp assistance or any other type of assistance. This makes a guard job easier and also minimises delays of trains, while the procedure of loading passengers is quick and effective.

I highly recommend my nominee for this award. Blake is motivated and positively engaged and a true inspiration to the whole South Western Family. He deserves to be recognised and he seems to be forgotten for a number of years. I hope to see him attending the ceremony and represent the fantastic values he has as a person, but also to show the values of the Company he is working for.

You are a true dedication Blake“
