Said the following about Annette Brown:

“Annette Brown has worked for Hull Trains for six years. She is a well-known personality on the trains and knows many passengers by name. We receive so many customer compliments about the service she gives.

When one of our trains was ‘stranded’ passengers had to stay on board for some time. Annette rounded up staff and passengers and kept everyone’s spirits up with food and hot drinks.

Annette often says how she likes to look after people the way that she’d like to be looked after. She often comments how she entertains passengers as her very own guests.

Below is a small selection of comments from passengers about the outstanding service she gives passengers:

“Travelling home after a stay with my family, it was a welcome relief to be greeted in such a cheery and sincere manner by Annette!” Maurice Rutherford, Hull

"Yesterday 19th July, I travelled to London on the 1543 from Retford to Kings Cross. I would like to say how impressed I was by your member of staff who looked after us in First Class. I am sorry I don't know the name. She was very friendly and helpful throughout the journey. At the end of the journey she even made her way through a crowded coach to help a young mother with a young baby in a push-chair who was finding it hard to get off the train with the push chair and luggage etc. I trust you will be able to commend her in some way for her efforts and hard work on that day. Yours sincerely, Richard."

"I caught the First Hull Trains service on Sunday 19 July from Doncaster to Kings Cross at 15.29 I travelled in First Class (carriage D). The carriage was very full and served by one of your staff Annette. I am not accustomed to being looked after so well on trains, planes or even restaurants for that matter. Annette worked the carriage continuously ensuring everyone had tea / coffee / sandwiches / cake etc. Always with a smile on her face and a happy comment. I thought she was taking a brief break for a while, but she was actually looking after a baby while Mum was in the loo.

Annette deserves a medal / pay-rise / employee of the decade award."“
