“Anneliese has been my manager for 3 years and always goes above and beyond for our team. Anneliese not only does her role but she is there 24/7 she supports us in our personal lives as well as in the work capacity. Anneliese often works through her annual leave to ensure we are supported in our function often meaning she doesn't get down time that every employee deserves. Anneliese is our biggest advocate in a part of the industry that is thankless. Anneliese makes sure that we get team days and encouragement to perform our roles 100% all of the time.“

Karolina Rewers-Rogers

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“Firstly I want to say that I have NEVER had a manager like Anneliese. She will go above and beyond in her support to all of us in our Team. She has opened my eyes in quality of service she is providing, to give each day 110% is just a norm for her. Not only she is an outstanding manager but person firstly. Working in Rosters Team even that is difficult and challenging is also a pleasure due to the ethics, support and quality of work and many more Anneliese has implemented. Thank you so much I am very grateful!!!“

Ana Maria Chiculita

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“I am writing this letter to nominate Anneliese Reid for the Manager Employee of the Year. She is a fabulous manager, a huge asset to our department, and is so deserving of this award and recognition. Let me tell you a little about her.

Anneliese's customer service skills are exemplary. She is one of the friendliest people I know and she always presents herself with a smile on her face and a happy greeting for her team. Although Anneliese is responsible for the rostering department she can often be found assisting anyone who needs help.

Despite the overwhelming amount of work that everyone has to do, Anneliese consistently finds ways to help his co-workers. She is quick to respond to requests for additional information by other team members and is thorough in ensuring all loose ends are completed.

Not once since I have been working with Anneliese heard one negative comment about her. It is with great pleasure that I respectfully submit this nomination for Anneliese to be recognized as the Manager of the Year.“

Teicia Igho

She goes above and beyond for our team and for this she deserves recognition.“

Karen Hoadley

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“I was never deluded by Anneliese as to how pressured, stressful and at times thankless the job she was offering me could be. She was right and, with one or two major doubts along the way on my part, I am still in post because of her courage, support, conviction and faith. I know how much Anneliese has sacrificed in recent years in extremely trying times in her determination to build and maintain a stable roster team. And she has - and deserves huge praise and recognition for this. She has our backs (and listens) always.“

Benjamin Ricci

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“I can not think of anyone more deserving of recognition than Anneliese. Through staff shortages, a lack of resources, and an ever increasing demand on the roster team she has managed to not only cobble together a working service, but an exceptional one at that. To deliver this service within these limits Anneliese has worked tirelessly often cancelling her annual leave, working through sickness, and working countless hours of overtime to ensure that the department runs - and runs excellently. Her dedication to her job is fully commended by our team - however - I believe recognition at the Rail Staff Awards would be both fitting and wholly deserved.“

Jemma Pratt

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“I have been working in Anneliese's Roster team for the last year.

Anneliese deserves this award for all the hard work, effort and dedication she has shown to her team and role over the last 3 years.

Anneliese is a natural leader she leads by example, setting out clear expectations of us all and she offers support and guidance. She encourages us to be the best that we can be for our ourselves and for our teams. Anneliese has arranged team days where were built and developed our team network

Anneliese is friendly and approachable this is shown by her positive attitude in solving problems, supporting other departments and working in partnership together.

She truly cares about her team, she is there not only to help with work but also as a listening ear for our lives outside of the job ensuring that we get the work life balance.“

Holly Doran

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“I am nominating Anneliese for Rail Manager of the Year because she is without a doubt the kindest, funniest, most supportive, and most understanding manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She goes over and above every day and is always there to fight our corner in difficult times, inside and outside of work. She has brought our team together over the past few years and improved team morale more than I think she will ever realise.

She is incredibly understanding and will always approach difficult situations with an open mind. On a more personal note, she has supported me through a very difficult 3 years - including the breakdown of a 6-year relationship, having to leave my home and move in difficult circumstances, multiple deaths in my family (up to 7 at this point) and unfortunately more hardships beyond that. Not only was she there to support me and offer whatever I needed during that time - day or night, but she has been there to help reassure me and offer great advice and support in the time since these difficult issues when my mental health was really at its worst.

She always speaks her mind and will be honest even if you have a difference of opinion, and she will take the time to explain something even if you ask 10 times without being annoyed. On top of all this, she has her own life to live and her own work to do, and being the superhuman she is, she juggles it all and still finds the time to have a laugh. Thank you Anneliese, you really are a brilliant human and I know that I and the rest of the team feel very lucky you came along.“

Rebecca Davenport

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“Anneliese is an awesome manager! She is funny, friendly, positive, non-judgemental and caring. I have worked for the railway for 31 years and she has been by far the best manager I have had in the last 28 years! Anneliese is down-to-earth and approachable. I am never afraid to raise an issue with her because I know she will do all she can to help resolve any problems.

Our work can be pressured, doing rosters is a thankless task but Anneliese does her utmost to keep our team focused and motivated. She regularly arranges team events, which we really enjoy. These meet-ups have worked really well building good relations within our team.

Anneliese works hard, she has on many occasions cancelled her annual leave due to work demands and has even worked whilst being on leave! I have also seen her at work when she has visibly been under the weather. She always gives 110% commitment to her work.

Our department is underfunded, understaffed, and unappreciated but Anneliese works her socks off to make up for these shortfalls. She tirelessly pushes to get our team what it needs and does her best to acquire the resources and external support required within our department.

Anneliese genuinely cares for her staff, she knows each member of her team on a personal level, is aware of each team member's circumstances, and offers additional support to her staff who are experiencing out-of-work difficulties.

I hope Anneliese wins this award, she deserves recognition for her awesomeness!“

Gina Robson

Said the following about Anneliese Reid:

“I am nominating Anneliese Reid for manager of the year as she is the best manager I have ever had. I have worked in rosters for 7 years and over the last 3 I have never felt so supported and appreciated for the hard work we put into rosters. Anneliese goes above and beyond constantly for our team and it shows. Rosters has never been in such a happy and stable place since she started managing us.

Anneliese is not only fair but understanding in our work and personal lives, she more than appreciates we need balance and helps us to keep this. She is always putting us first, offering amazing support, guidance and help. She has always made herself approachable if we need a hand with anything and never makes us feel worried to say we've made a mistake or an error, instead she is supportive and helps us fix it.

Anneliese has personally supported me and been there for me not only as a manager but a friend. I went through a lot after I had my daughter and was very worried to come back to work, Anneliese not only helped me find a suitable working solutions but supported me through every hard day along with the good. I recently fell pregnant with my son and had a very complicated and scary pregnancy, again Anneliese was there every step of the way and made work a place of peace and not worry as I feared it might be. I am currently on maternity leave and still attend team meetings and days out as Anneliese has turned our work team into an enjoyable safe space for us all.

Anneliese deserves to win manager of the year for these reasons above and so many more. This is the recognition she deserves for the selflessness she has shown over the last 3 years she has put into this job. She is a fantastic manager and leader. We are very lucky to have her :)“
