Said the following about Anil Mistry:

“Anil has worked in the rail industry for 17 years now within TPE and formerly FNW, and has principally created the amended traincrew diagrams as part of Train Planning in this time.

He works tirelessly day in, day out to produce weekly sets of amended diagrams for both drivers and conductors that fit to strict terms and conditions. He often has worked in this role completely alone, overseeing times of huge disruption, such as holiday periods and during extensive maintenance blocks.

Despite this massive workload he is not one to complain, and simply gets down to the task as hand. Amazingly, despite the often hundreds of alterations per week his accuracy is second to none, with incidents created virtually unheard of. The reliability of work content shown is appreciated by the traincrew who work them and the planning department for reliability alike.

At the beginning of this year Anil particularly stepped up to the mark when Lamington Viaduct was closed for emergency repairs. The amended train plan was put in over two days but due to the requirements of the TPE, engineers and other parties, this plan had to be altered many times behind the scenes. Anil simply got on with these changes and was pro-active in communicating them to where they need to go, outside the normal vigorous timescales.

Anil is an well-liked, team player, who is the first to organise and get involved with social events, not only within the team, but the whole company. He has a can-do attitude to all tasks and events he is involved in, and has been for over a decade.

He is more than deserving for the award of Rail Person of the Year.“
