Said the following about Andy Phillips:

“Over the past twelve months Andy has worked extensively, and often autonomously, on several key business transformation projects.

Launching in October 2014, Andy planned, managed and implemented online multi-currency pricing capabilities which has seen a 10% increase in online revenue from key overseas territories, allowing Heathrow Express to achieve international traction for the first time.

As part of the new kiosk and hand held terminal projects Andy has learnt both RJIS format and coding in order to provide ticketing solutions for Heathrow Express. Today Andy manages over 1,000 base fares and fare apportionments (not including all the railcard and add-ons associated to each base fare!).

Most recently Andy has devised an advanced ticketing solution including minimum booking periods, daily quotas, multicurrency payments and more, which can be purchased both online and via the mobile app. Andy devised the requirements, worked with suppliers to find solutions for the capability, and completed numerous days of testing. This is a first for Heathrow Express and was single-handling scoped and project managed by Andy, whilst working within the confines of legacy systems. This new capability, due to go live September 2015, will be a game changer for Heathrow Express.

Andy's dedication, unique system and product knowledge knowledge plus problem solving abilities have been invaluable to both suppliers and Heathrow Express. Working in a pricing team of only one person, Andy is an outstanding individual who has delivered all of this whilst maintaining his day job as Pricing Manager which includes setting of all fares, analysis and reporting (including being the SME for QlikView), relationship management with other TOCs and more.

He works incredibly hard to deliver the best for Heathrow Express, never drops the ball and always helps the many individuals who approach him on a daily basis for assistance, even when it's not technically his place to help. It is safe to say that without him key projects would not have been possible for Heathrow Express and I can't think of a more worthy individual who deserves recognition for his exemplary year.“

“In the time that I worked with Andy I saw him take the initiative to get things done that other people had not seen. He is one of those people that just gets on with the job and sometimes to the detriment of his private life, working very long hours to achieve the best outcome for Heathrow Express. Andy delivers without question and is one of the most dedicated people I have met.
