Nominations for Depot & Freight Staff Award

David Evans

Said the following about All Depots Supporting the Mendip Contract Mendip Eastleigh Reading Bristol Acton Thamesport:

“From taking over the Mendip contract 3rd November 2019 all Freightliner staff both front line and in the offices at London, Crewe and Ferrybridge have strived to deliver a robust and reliable service to our key stakeholders MRL.

Since the start of the contract regular weeks see 130 to 140 trains run with a record of 140 trains running in a single week and 206,000 tonnes transported. This is an uplift of on average of 20% from previous figures.

None of this would be possible without the dedication, flexibility and hard work of the committed staff spanning across multiple depots and locations to service this work. Multiple new depots and flows have been added to the already expansive MRL portfolio with continued praise from front end stake holders at terminals as well as from parent companies Hanson and Aggregate Industries. Extensive excellent collaboration and communication has allowed for the contract to grow and flourish.

The future for the contract remains positive thanks to these depots, with new flows and depots opening. This is all possible due to the current staff’s endeavours, a lot of which go unseen. This award would be for all of those unseen acts, all the extra yards that make the difference.“
