“I have nominated the QSE Team for AGA Presentation Department.

The team consists of a

Auditor – Darren Williams

Auditor – Indre Bartkeviciene

Trainer – Victor Mesa

Trainer Kris Drozd

Safety Manager – Tomasz Leski,

The last year has proved to be an extremely challenging year for a new team with new roles with the introduction of AGA Presentation Department’s QSE Team.

I am tremendously proud of my team and honoured to be working with such a conscientious hard working group of individuals who have come together for the common goal, identifying opportunities, eliminating root causes of problems and working relentlessly to improve the AGA Presentation Department’s output

The team consists of two auditors, two trainers and a safety manager and as the department expands and different challenges are faced supported at times by additional temporary colleagues

The auditors have planned, created, scheduled and conducted robust cleaning audits for trains, stations, depots and offices, checking work output, in particular quality control ensuring individuals meet both safety and quality standards at all times. They have spent time with AGA’s external auditors to understand the reviews they undertake and from this developed a plan for internal audits which is aligned with their way of thinking, understanding improvement requirements.

The trainers created the training packages together so as to ensure a joined up approach at all times. Both are experienced cleaners, team leaders and A1 Assessors. They prepared the training package whilst studying for a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. Deliver this to AGA Presentation employees and Agency/Contract staff in order to best meet the requirements of the business and department, providing support and coaching skills to staff to ensure high quality and efficient output. As the department has grown very quickly they have been incredibly busy and deliver much of their training at night so as not to bring too much disruption to the teams and minimise impact on cleaning delivery, enabling them to up-skill the current workforce

The Safety Manager ensures all that we do is done in the safest way possible. Providing quality COSHH assessments, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work, also reviewing new market innovations to ensure the teams have the latest and most up to date equipment to use.

Recently their dedication and determination has played a huge part in the continuous improvement within the department. Between them they have worked on the introduction of a new methodology of cleaning on stabled units to support the enhancement in the cleaning standards we are determined to achieve. They are managing the introduction, writing and delivering a training programme, resourcing new equipment and ensuring all train cleaners are fully briefed and proficient, they do this in accordance with AGA values of genuine, professional, inclusive and pro-active, whilst continuing to work on their daily tasks.

Their commitment, perseverance and strength of character is awe inspiring and they have gone from a good group of individuals to a great team!!“
