Who is TSO?

With more than 90 years of experience in France and internationally, TSO puts its expertise to work on rail safety track construction, renewal, and maintenance.

TSO prioritises innovation and the development of synergies between its own area of expertise and the complementary professions of NGE, enabling the Group to offer a self-delivery service for the most technically demanding projects.

TSO actively participates in the improvement of the modern railway technologies: introduction of concrete sleepers, rail welding, elastic fastenings, continuously welded tracks, ballastless track, and high speed lines.

Our specialist services are involved in the construction, upgrading, and maintenance of rail tracks. The work of this core business serves rail networks, high-speed rail line projects, and urban networks, such as metro and tramway systems. Other specialist services, such as topographic studies, rail industry software development, the rebuilding of mainline and shunting locomotives, and rail safety, enable us to offer a comprehensive range of services.

We are proud to be a part of the Central Railway System Alliance (CRSA), with which we collaborate on a variety of projects, as it brings together the collective strength of the four parent companies: Atkins, Balfour Beatty, Network Rail, and TSO. It is with these partners that we are able to develop, design, and deliver rail systems renewals and railway enhancement projects across the large geographic regions of the North West, Central, and Eastern regions, from London to the Scottish Border. Being a part of the CRSA provides us with the unique chance to be involved in some of the UK’s most exciting projects, with a variety of work that is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for career development.
