“Yvonne is the Health & Wellbeing Strategy Manager for South Eastern Railway and is based at the company HQ in London.

She has been responsible for raising greater awareness of Health issues throughout the business and has achieved this by encouraging staff from all grades to become Health and Wellbeing Champions who can then promote Health initiatives with their local colleagues such as corporate gym memberships, quit smoking plans, healthy nutrition etc.

In this regard I have been impressed by her Management skills as she supports and inspires the Team in equal measure.

Furthermore she has led the promotion of Health Fairs throughout the London/Kent area for all staff which have included visits from local Health promoters.

At these Fairs, free confidential Health checks are offered to staff and even massages which have been really appreciated by staff who have told me that they have been encouraged to quit smoking and adopt a more Healthier lifestyle.

Yvonne has also been working on strategies caring for our colleagues mental wellbeing so that any staff who suffer with depression for example can be given as much support and help as possible, she has also been involved with supporting staff who are affected by a Rail fatality as well as working with the Samaritans to help to train staff to prevent potential Rail suicides.

Under the professional leadership of Yvonne, the Health & Wellbeing initiative has continued to have many positive benefits for staff and sickness levels have dropped, however what stands out to me is the genuine concern that Yvonne has for the wellbeing of all our staff which is why I would like to nominate Yvonne for this well-deserved accolade.“

“Throughout the time I have known Yvonne she has shown great dedication & professionalism in raising health and wellbeing awareness successfully for Southeastern. Her enthusiasm and determination to make a difference is very clear to see and she has led on promoting extremely popular Health Fairs on a monthly basis of which our colleagues have greatly benefitted from especially as many of us work different shift patterns so to be able to have health checks, massages, receive health information, physiotherapy and much more in the work place is real bonus and very much appreciated.

Yvonne is currently leading on promoting a new exciting initiative, 'October campaign programme' of which she has been working very hard to organise future events around the London and Kent areas to provide information to our colleagues and the travelling public on Suicide prevention, help for staff who are experiencing stress, trauma support and offer information on stress and mental health.

Furthermore she is an extremely approachable and friendly Manager who supports colleagues positively and offers her encouragement and support in many ways.“
