Nominations for Apprentice of the Year

Heidi Thomas

Said the following about Yehya Hawila:

“We are nominating Yeyha Hawila for Apprentice of the Year award due to his outstanding performance in the company’s Quantity Surveying degree apprenticeship programme and also his commitment to manage his stakeholders and clients as a representative of Costain.

Yehya came to the company’s attention as a Career Ready summer work placement student on one of Costain’s most high profile projects – Crossrail Paddington. His outstanding work ethic, jovial nature, and eagerness to learn impressed his team. He worked tirelessly to join the company’s degree apprenticeship and also back with the team at Paddington where he demonstrated to be a committed professional.

His continual work and support of Career Ready as a representative of Costain has been exemplary and he has been invited back as a guest speaker at their events on numerous occasions. He has also been asked to attend a London First event. He balances these commitments with his role and responsibilities as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor.

Yehya has recently moved onto the High Speed Two Enabling Works South contract where he is an integral part of the team. In addition to his role, he is mentor to a pupil at Paddington Academy and he is also enrolling to start his studies towards gaining his accreditation with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.“
