Said the following about TXM Rail:

“TXM Rail, A division of TXM Plant Ltd, was established as the Principal Contractor Division of TXM Plant Ltd in July 2014. The TXM Rail Team initially consisted of 4 staff members including a Rail Services Director, SHEQ Manager, Commercial Manager and Rail Operations Manager who were tasked with establishing the business, developing the systems and procedures and tendering for work. Since July the team has grown to 13 core staff including Site Agents, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors and supervisors.

The rapid growth is testimony to the team’s dedication in getting the company to a position where they are ready to trade well ahead of the business forecast. This is supplemented with the high quality delivery of the successful contracts to date, leading to heightened interest from clients both within the private sector and Network Rail, where they have already secured the contract for Scrap Recovery within the LNW region. An example of the major contracts completed to date include:

Nexus

The team has successfully delivered the Jesmond Track Renewal Project for Nexus Metro System in Newcastle. The project duration was 15 weeks and concluded with the installation works being undertaken over 2 x 54hour blockages. This project was particularly challenging due to limited access, both from a physical and time perspective and the track geometry challenges.

The project was completed to an excellent standard, with the clients Principal Engineer providing a reference stating it was the best project undertaken on the infrastructure to date.

Encirc

The team has also successfully delivered Project Green Castle in Cheshire. These works consisted of the construction, installation and commissioning of a new railway sidings into the Elton Glass Works for Encirc. This project was construction on the grounds of an old PowerStation, crossing over 2 watercourses with the track predominately constructed on top of a peat-bog, requiring a bespoke geotechnical solution using light weight aggregates to suppress any extrusion of the ground below.

The works also included the installation of new signals on piled foundations and shunter’s cabin within the site and required extensive works within the local signal box due to the rare nature of the mechanical locking equipment within it.

The team’s vision for diverse types of project has opened the door to clients to award ‘one stop shop’ opportunities, which would historically have required multiple layers of contractors to deliver the same volume of work. An example of this is REB delivery and installation works on behalf of Colas Rail for the New South Wales Project.

The team has delivered these projects with no lost time accidents/ incidents whilst encouraging close call/ positive reporting on site.

During this time, the team has also contributed to several other initiatives and systems within the company, these include:

- Achilles RISQS Audit, 5 Star Achievement;

- The implementation of SYPOL COSHH Management System within the company;

- The implementation of Access Focal Point Commercial System;

- The development of the ‘Close Call Reporting App’ for TXM Smart Phones

TXM Rail’s approach to undertaking all aspects of work focuses on Safety, Professionalism, Quality and Innovation – striving to achieve safer, more cost effective working methods at all times.“
