Nominations for Rail Manager of the Year

Wendy Newton

Said the following about Trish Bromley:

“Trish took over the role of Area Retail Manager in June this year and has made an amazing impact.

Trish has outstanding leadership qualities and has achieved amazing results in the short time she has been here. Customer praise correspondance has hugely increased and staff error logs have significantly decreased. This is due to the time Trish spends with individual staff members and the attention to detail of the role. She cares about each and every member of staff, ensuring their well being at all times and this is evident by the great morale amongst her colleagues. Dealing with performance issues in an understanding way that has achieved results and improvements amongst individuals.

She also goes above and beyond by being available at all times to contact as and when staff need her.

She has an infectious personality whereby she has no problem in making both staff and customers smile whenever they have contact.

During Trish's previous role as Duty Station Manager she was selected to facilitate and deliver the 'Mrs Jones' customer service training for all station and Travel Centre staff. A perfect choice as she made the 1 day event enjoyable and a pleasure to attend. Feedback from these events was that staff members felt inspired by Trish to go out and deliver amazing customer service and this has shown from the improved feedback from our customers.

Trish is a natural with staff and customers and is an ambassador for the Company who leads the team with a genuine, enthusiastic and inspiring attitude.“

Lorna Currie-Gooding

Said the following about Trish Bromley:

“In June 2015 Trish joined Newcastle Travel Centre as Area Retail Manager. She had previously been Duty Station Manager based at Durham on The East Coast Mainline. Trish always made an effort with staff, making sure she would come in and say hello and built up a special rapport with staff.

When Trish came to Newcastle as Manager she has turned the office around. Staff moral has picked up and people are genuinely happy to see Trish in work. Every morning she greets us with a smile, and is always happy. She is genuinely interested in her Team, getting to know us indivually and treats us as friends not just colleagues therefore earning a mutual respect.

On occasion when she has had to speak to customers she can turn around a bad situation with her natural persona.

She is still currently learning the role but is really making an effort to learn every part of the job, already showing that she is keen to be a 'hands on manager'.

We are very lucky to have her, appreciating the time and effort she has taken to get to know us personally. Her positive attitude and the way she takes every challenge as an amazing opportunity that she will learn how to do, not one that she would say no to is truly a breath of fresh air. Encouraging her team to do the same.

Trish is the ideal winner for this award.“
