Said the following about Steve Woodcock:

“Steve has 50 years of Railway experience, starting as an BR engineering apprentice. Steve very quickly took to the electronics side and early on in his career was tasked with setting up the first computer in the region. Teaching himself, he used his knowledge to set up punch card-type computing for maintenance of railway assets. He has worked tirelessly in the Norwich Area, setting up depots, assessing and auditing, always working hard on the side-lines to ensure his railway runs to the best of its abilities.

Now, Steve is the Fleet Systems Engineer for Greater Anglia, and spearheads the resilience between Greater Anglia's engineering systems and that of its maintainers, suppliers and partners. From ensuring that engineering work orders are interfaced across systems to making certain that the company is compliant in all manners of IT and security.

Steve will check his systems before bed and browse with his cup of tea in the morning; making Steve take his annual leave in its self is a task worthy of award!

The recent successes with Greater Anglia's performance lay in part to the Engineering directorate and the level of accountability they hold. Steve is a mainstay and crux of that department and beyond worthy of recognition.“
