Said the following about Simon Brooks:

“The definition of a good manager is “Effective managers help people stay motivated to do their best work. They make the people they manage feel valued, supported, and empowered. They feel they're successful when the employees they manage are successful” this is Simon Brooks!

He has supported me throughout the two years that he has been at Runcorn. From the moment he arrived as the new station manager he has brought positivity and has led his team at Liverpool and Runcorn through some very tough times, supporting us through covid and through personal issues. He has given his time (days off) to support with charity and community projects that his team have been involved with.

On a personal level he has mentored, coached and encouraged me in my personal development journey and supported me throughout my apprenticeship and has always found time to offer advice and give me the push I needed when I became overwhelmed with coursework! Simon then supported me when my husband went into hospital for a major operation during lockdown, he called me on a daily basis to make sure I was ok, knowing that I couldn’t be at the hospital and was stressing at home! You will never know how much that support meant to me! I am forever grateful!

Simon, Thank You for everything you do! I know that we don’t always get the chance to recognise the great job that you do, but I hope that this will show you how much you truly are appreciated!“
