“Within Southern Managed Stations the largest cause of passenger accidents related to incident which occur on escalators. this has been a know issue for a long time and we have struggled to reduce these incidents.
To address this issue Scott led a group of subject matter experts and operational colleagues to understand the root cause of the issue and trial a number of measure to mitigate the risk and reduce escalator accident and make the station a safer place for passengers.
This work enabled us to standardise the mitigations that we now intend to role out across all managed stations in the region so we have a consistent approach to reducing accident. it also allowed us to discount a number of initiatives which had no effect when tested.
