Said the following about Richard Hayes:

“The lady was shouting very loudly on her phone with f this f that to her boyfriend and that life is rubbish. She came over to the ticket office window and said on her phone that she was going to jump in front of the next train as life was rubbish. Richard ran out of the ticket office and followed her. She was on the edge of platform 2 so he said hello and would she like to have a chat in the platform office she said yes. The lady was very stressed and tearful. They talked in the platform office and she was telling him all her problems and what was wrong with her life and no one would help her. She heard that the next Kings Cross train was due in and said that she would go to Borehamwood and see friends, so Richard watched her get on the train and called Kings Cross to meet her which they did with the BTP.

Richard said “I just had a gut feeling she was not right and I knew I had to get her to a safe place for her own safety. The lady came back in on the Sunday and said to me thank you for listening to me and thank me for what I did which was really nice she looked so different to the day before a lot less stress looking”.

What a remarkable story how that intervention when on to save someone’s life. We are so very proud.“
