“Pino’s career started in 1984 as British Rail Labourer, before becoming an Apprentice Bricklayer, eventually achieving an ONC and then an HNC in Civil Engineering. He also became a member of the highly respected British Rail underwater diving team- inspecting railway structures.

Pino has dedicated 31 years of his life to the rail industry working many years of nights and weekends at the sharp end. As the Managing Director of Bridgeway Consulting he has succeeded in creating one of the rail industry’s most respected organisations in railways today. Pino’s leadership qualities, drive and commitment have been instrumental in developing a safety conscious business and with a can-do, will do philosophy. He is an influential figure within Bridgeway wanting to remain as involved as possible with his teams and each individual within the business. Pino has a management style which promotes an open door culture within Bridgeway, encouraging transparency and openness with each other. What makes Pino so popular amongst colleagues is that he is always willing to offer his advice and improve a situation; his views carry great substance and people know that when they make a request of Pino it will never be too much trouble. Pino is energetic, unflappable, enthusiastic, persuasive and conscientious. His highly motivational management and leadership style is outstanding. He’s not only able to extract the very best from his teams, but his counsel and advice is also highly sought, valued and respected by his peers within the industry.

A truly unique figure within the industry, Pino is a person that has made a tremendous contribution in making the UK railway’s a world class market leader. Pino is a thoroughbred railwayman/person and is as enthusiastic today as he has ever been. Being recognised for his efforts and contribution to the rail industry –and achieving the Lifetime Achievement would be the ultimate accolade for a distinguished career to date which I’m sure would be supported by all those in the rail industry (past and present) that know him.“

Said the following about Pino De Rosa:

“For his contribution and passion to the rail industry, I can think of no more deserving recipient of the lifetime achievement award than Pino.

Having both studied and worked alongside Pino for many years, I can attest to his single-minded focus and drive, with an enthusiasm that few can match. His knowledge and experience is the result of having put in the “hard yards” on track, which gives him the credibility to speak from a position of great respect within the industry.

I have no hesitation in presenting this nomination, safe in that the knowledge that many in the Rail profession will join me in wishing him “Buona fortuna!”.“
