“Paul has been key to ensuring the success of the examination and assessment process in Wales for buildings, structures and earthworks. Wales was the first route to implement the strategic change bringing in multiple suppliers (12) to undertake approx. 9000 structural examinations, 200 assessments, 220 stations surveys and 4000 earthwork examinations across the infrastructure annually. This has allowed the route to be ahead of the game with regards to compliance, using specialist suppliers, implementing innovate technological transformation and making significant cost efficiencies. Paul has tirelessly made sure that there has been a huge success with this innovatory change and has been an inspiration to other regions and routes across Network Rail who have followed suit.“
