“Matt is a duty station manager at Guildford and has been for around 3 years. Over the last year Matt has stepped up on a number of fronts. He has alongside doing his day job covered the position of Station Manager of the Aldershot area which has 10 stations. There is also a major redevelopment of Guildford station that has been ongoing for 3 years and will be for another 6 years which also means a lot more work for Matt on top of his day job.
I am Matt's line manager and he is part of my management team of which there are 3 DSMs. Matt is also my deputy and on top of everything else he does. He never lets work get him down and he is always available to help and assist his colleagues whenever they need it.
He has been the lead on a number of projects for the SWR Central stations area and he has delivered these on time and to an extremely high standard. Matt is the future of the railway and will help drive SWR forward and I have no doubt that he is destined for great things. His work ethic is second to none and he manages all this with a cheerful outlook at all times. He is a credit to SWR and the wider rail family and we are fortunate to have such a bright star in our business.“
