Said the following about Lesley Soane:

“Lesley is a Scheme Project Manager within IP Signalling Southern West. In her spare time Lesley bakes cakes and treats for offices with the proceeds from the sales of her cakes going to Angel Orphanage in Nepal.

When Lesley heard about a big family living in a damp and squalid house with limited food and a lack of clean drinking water she was inspired to try and help in whatever way she could.

Angel & his wife took in children off the Street many of whom do not know who their parents are or even their date of birth. Lesley was inspired by the work that ‘Friends of Angel’s’ fund raising group do and knew she could help out in some way.

As Lesley is a baking addict so she decided to start baking in the evenings and bringing the cakes into work asking for a small donation from colleagues for a slice or two! She has been doing this for about 3 or so years and with the help of her amazing and generous team has raised over £2500 for the children. The motto of the charity is ‘Every penny counts’ and it really does.

This effort recently helped make it possible for the family to move to a much better home in Kathmandu and the donations go directly to pay for clothes, shoes, cooking gas, electricity and water. It also pays for Dentist, Optician and Doctors bills.
