Said the following about Lee Davey:

“Lee is my husband and i know everyone's husband works hard but i felt i wanted to put him forward for this nomination, We have been married for 17 years and together for 20 and in this time he has continually worked for the railways, through many different company's, The reason for the nomination is on February 5th 2014 he was the site agent at Dawlish the day the storms hit, from this day he has worked tireless for his previous company and for his company he works for now, he has seen Dawlish at its most vulnerable and at its peak, The Dawlish sea wall i know was not only repaired by him but a strong team of men and women. I feel i wanted my husband recognized for his input and efforts and i personally as his wife think he does an awesome job, the hours we saw each other were limited but we both knew the importance of his role, He continues to work for the rail and was over seeing the wall strengthen by the original break again more hours and problems were faced because of the weather that continued, but lee continued and held his head high working through the problems and ensuring others safety,

For most people reading this they will think that because he is paid for his role it doesn't count but i know the extra hours he put in , the midnight phone calls the live web cam on constantly at home and work to check that workers are safe, and the endless planning and preparation and delays because of the weather,

I would like my husband to know that myself and his 2 children are very proud of his work and will always support him in his role“
