“The teamwork and working partnership between the Train Service Managers TSM (Southeastern) and the Train Running Controllers TRCs (Network Rail) within the Kent Integrated Controller Centre has gone from strength to strength since the KICC moved to its new location at Puddle Dock, Blackfriars, London.

With the move to new offices, came the opportunity for a better and more intelligent design for the layout of the desks, resulting in the TSMs and TRCS being sat next to each other and being able to communicate quickly and directly during disruption to ensure timely and collaborative working, resulting in effective recovery for the passenger experience.

Using data provision from the information team for service gaps, the TSMs and TRCS, work to ensure that passengers are less likely to experience extreme gaps in service provision and to keep them moving.

With triple figures in railway experience among the team members, our senior TSM Lofty (who is up for a lifetime service award) had over 50 years of railway experience himself before retiring last month, with many others in double figures themselves.

The intercompany working relationship is a proud and customer-focused one. We may be two companies, but we are one team, determined to work together, to ensure that passengers across the Kent and East Sussex routes experience seamless and enjoyable travel.“
