Nominations for Apprentice of the Year

Said the following about Georgia House:

“After taking a year out after her a-levels Georgia started looking into apprenticeships rather than university as she wasn’t sure what she wanted to study. She joined SWR in 2018 as an operational apprentice at Bournemouth depot where she was nominated to become an employee champion and on an away day was where she met the sustainability team. She joined the team in April 2019 and never left. Georgia is now a sustainability Coordinator doing an Environmental Science degree apprenticeship. Georgia has organised beach clean ups with the apprentices as part of World Environment Day, looked after waste, biodiversity, charity and employee engagement & comms.

Whilst in her new role Georgia has chaired the company charity panel and does all the admin side of things, she has organised NICU boxes for charities on the Isle of Wight, and organised a the Rapid response vehicle for Surrey Search and Rescue , held bucket collections at our stations , Donated coats/jackets from lost property to Wrap Up London.

Not content with supporting 2 charities, Georgia wrote a business case on why we should support more charities (we now have our 5 charity partners and not 2).

Georgia through bucket collections and employee fundraisers in FY20/21 SWR raised over £60,000 for numerous charities across the UK. Georgia is our Star and deserves all the recognition that's coming her way. Thank you Georgia.“
