The RailStaff Awards 2024

Dr Jacqueline Christodoulou MBE

Said the following about Emma Taylor:

“I have nominated Emma Taylor for this award as not only is her work in the rail industry is outstanding, she is completely dedicated to mentoring others and developing a system of Continuing Professional Development for rail safety engineers. Previously gaining safety experience in Oil & Gas and with NASA, Emma has worked in the rail industry for some time, and fully embodies concepts of transferable skills.

She goes beyond the call of her everyday role with RSSB by organising and taking part in CPD events with many different learned societies and institutes, thereby drawing together knowledge and experience and enhancing safety in the rail industry. She has recently become a Fellow of several institutes and this charts her meteoric rise in the industry.

As well as this, she is a caring person who works hard for charity and understands the intangible, human qualities that are so important in the full understanding of safety. Emma is an excellent communicator and fully deserves to be honoured as Rail Safety Person of the year - she is the perfect ambassador for safety in the rail industry.“
