Emma is never afraid to step up and lead. She volunteered to drive and evacuate one of the test trains during trial operations – at a time when a test fail could have seen the project further delayed.
She has also inspired Londoners to become train drivers through her involvement in the BBC Documentary on the Elizabeth line, which followed her journey from driving trains in Trial Operations right through to driving train 001 on the first day of passenger services from Paddington to Abbey Wood.
Doing a job is often hard enough, but having every moment filmed is even more daunting. Yet Emma allowed this and made the industry proud."“
“Thank you for another fantastic RailStaff Awards event. As usual, the attention to detail was perfect, and all aspects of the evening were perfect. We had 23 GWR colleagues attending, and all couldn't stop talking about how magical the experience was. Their Facebook feeds are very busy this morning with lots of photos! We were privileged to secure a win for Rail Person of the Year (Pete White) and a highly commend in the Samaritans Life Saver Award (Nathan Stockman), and also have the opportunity to sponsor and hand over an award (Rail Manager of the Year).
