“I would like to nominate Ed as Rail Engineer of the year for his constant high standards within Track Design. Ed recently completed the Truro track design on Cornwall Re-signalling Project, identifying site risks and current gauging issues, proactively discussing and raising these issues with the track project engineering team and proposing suitable solutions through close engagement with the project engineers.
His knowledge and experience of using ClearRoute to complete gauging has been invaluable through this whole process. He also raised several issues about the quality of surveys that potentially could have led to H&S risks or inaccurate design, due to missing and incomplete survey detail. His attention to detail has proven a real benefit during this project.
He has also managed the Wales PRS schemes as Track CRE and completed the checking of several Crossrail 2 designs, all whilst undertaking a Part-time Master's degree to further his railway engineering knowledge.“
