Said the following about Denmark Hill Station Team:

“Through the grit and determination of station colleagues, Denmark Hill Station has become a network leader in community and environmental projects, organising events and supporting local charities. This is in addition to operating and maintaining a busy, Victorian-era station within walking distance of one of the biggest hospitals in the capital.

Following the opening of a new entrance to the station in 2021, the station team used their intuition to work with the local Camberwell Society to commission a local artist to create mounted Adinkra’s to add a little sparkle to the station entrance.

Taking inspiration from Denmark Hill’s position as a carbon positive station, the team also work with the Camberwell Society on some green-fingered projects. This included raising support for a small vineyard, and a partnership garden which is maintained in partnership with local schools.

Denmark Hill station is a great champion for the local community, supporting our customers and using GTR’s premises for good causes.

This achievement is on top of running a busy station. Station staff complete several assists each hour in close succession. With a specialist mental health unit located nearby, station colleagues also encounter vulnerable individuals on a regular basis and use their professionalism to keep everyone safe.

The Denmark Hill Team are a real asset to the railways and live and breathe the values of working with pride, customer service and serving the community.“
