Said the following about Debra Park:

“Debra has been an asset to the team at Workington since she started with us. She always thinks outside the box and has come up with some really initiative ideas to improve processes within the booking office of the area that she works.

Debra has had to deal not only with industrial action but also inclement weather in the early part of her first year with the team at Workington Station. She hits the ground running with every issue she comes into contact with and has excelled as an excellent member of the team.

Debra always volunteers to extend her knowledge to assist others and the company. Recently she completed training for the Incident Care Team within Cumbria, which assists others during major issues and could take her away from home for a period of time, depending on the severity of the crisis. She also is now part of the Mental Health First Aid Team and again this is to assist other colleagues throughout the whole of the company. She shows great empathy and consideration for others and always puts others first.

She has had personal issues at home due to her husband’s failing health in the past 12 months and she has managed this situation with courage and has never brought her private life into the workplace and she still has managed to continue with her outstanding customer service and help and support to other colleagues and her manager.

I feel that she deserves to be recognised for her continued efforts and professionalism that shines when she is on duty at her station. She always strives to go that extra mile and she is a wonderful asset not only to me but to the company.“
