“A customer approached Dave in the ticket office in quite a panic alerting him to a vulnerable young girl on the platform.
Dave raced to the platform and the girl was a few feet from the platform edge and was planning to jump in front of the next train which was imminent. It is worth noting that passengers on the platform had heard a conversation from the young lady which had raised alarm and alerted them to the situation.
As the train approached Dave grabbed the girl and pull her away from the edge of the platform. All the time she was struggling and trying to get away from him towards the train.
There was a member of our station maintenance team on site and Dave instructed him to call the signaller and stop trains.
The BTP were called who attended and took over the incident. We later heard that the young lady was receiving help.“
“I am nominating this individual because I think he goes extra mile for all his customers. His customer service is always superb and he always try to look after each and one of them. He always brings the staff together and makes everyone smile. I witness him helping all his passengers and I’ve seen him helping elderly ladies with their bags and such and know he stopped young girl of taking her own life at one of your local stations too“
