The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Apprentice of the Year

Helen Fuller

Said the following about Daniel Arthur:

“Its so easy to nominate Daniel for this award. He has embraced a return to learning with a constant smile on his face and an enthusiastic and enquiring mind. Daniel has such a passion for the railway and for providing excellent customer service that he has even undertaken shadowing of other roles throughout the business on his days off. He wants to have a thorough understanding of how other roles impact his, on a day to day basis. This additional experience, he has then fed back into his qualification, sharing his experiences with his fellow Apprentices, broadening their knowledge also. Daniel's can do, what's next attitude is addictive to fellow Apprentices, colleagues and customers, leaving me with no doubt in this nomination.“

Heather Graham

Said the following about Daniel Arthur:

“I am nominating Daniel for 'Apprentice of the Year' because when he initially began his Apprenticeship in August 2021, he had a number of challenges to deal with in a short space of time and felt quite on his own, he was also having some difficulties integrating into his new place of work.

However, over the course of his Apprenticeship, Daniel had shown resilience and strength, developing into a confident, competent member of Avanti West Coast staff who has received recognition from his peers and management, progressed through personal development and also given support to other staff members.

I have personally been very impressed by Daniel's performance during his Apprenticeship and think he has the potential to have a bright future in the rail industry.““
