Nominations for Rail Team of the Year

Said the following about Crown Point Depot:

“Norwich Crown Point (NCP) is an engineering maintenance depot that manages and maintains a very rigorous maintenance programme of both Intercity and Diesel multiple units (DMU).

We are looking to follow on from our previous achievements last year when we won the Golden Spanners for both the “most improved train” and for “most reliable Intercity train” as well as delivering the MKIII refresh on all the Intercity coaches.

Through much hard work and dedication across all teams on the depot we’ve hit a new milestone and achieve a record MTIN on the Intercity fleet of 58,368 miles per technical incident, which is 38,000 miles ahead of second place, meaning yet another golden spanner for the InterCitys.

We’ve had a busy and challenging year so far at Norwich crown point with both DMU and Intercity fleets going away for heavy maintenance and modification programmes. This has impacted our spare availability resulting in additional pressure on the team to deliver service.

As a whole the depot team has pulled together to deliver exceptional results over the past year, improving the service provided to our customers.

Looking to the future there are even more challenges ahead with drastic infrastructure changes taking place to the depot and the introduction of a brand new fleet. In the face of these changes the depot team are still keen to maintain these high standards and deliver even better results.“
