“These are a team of peole that have just blown me away over the two years this team have been set up. They are a team of 13 people spread out amongst the stations and depots from Glasgow/Edinburgh to Warrington who have worked very hard , mostly in their own time to
Raise money through all sorts of activities including Ghost tours, breakfast on the stations, coffee and cakes, flash dances and have supported Alder Hey/Millies appeal/air ambulance/hospice at home/poppy appeal/Help for heroes to name an few.
support community events around 40K over the last
support other community charities with spacefor storage/meeting rooms/recruitment.
Commerorated WW1 with services/peace poles and memorials
Talks at local colleges
working with colleges to provide work experience/recruitment experience
Educational school visits.
decorating childrens cancer hospice
santa train for cash for kids with santas grotto at a station
supported start up business with space to promote goods/put them in touch with people for business advice
They are a bunch of self motivated people who just want to make a difference to their community and want their stations to feel part of the community. The work they have done has not only made a differece to lives in their communities it has brought station and on board teams together and created a platform for innovation and fun at work. Lots of the fundraising activities have involved our customers so its raised awareness of a particular charity and given us an opportunity to have fun with customers.
its also helped to forge relationships across functions in the business.
They were brough together by my self, i had a vision that they have surpassed by far.
Id really love the opportunity for them and what they do to be more well know across the industry. We have so much more than money to give.“
